Rewarding Bury’s next generation of rugby stars

Blog

Bury St Edmunds is such a vibrant place, with so much to offer residents young and old – particularly when it comes to sporting events. At Burnett Barker Solicitors we love nothing more than getting out and about amongst our local community, and when something like rugby is involved (there are a few rugby fans at BBS HQ!), all the better…

We recently had the pleasure of sponsoring the Bury St Edmunds RUFC Minis’ team medals – handed to the young players at their end of season presentation and family day last month.

All minis, players, families and supporters enjoyed a day of activities including quadbiking, archery, bouncy castles, as well as the medal presentation itself to celebrate the end of a fun-filled sporting season.

Nicola Butler, co-chairman of the Bury Minis presents an end of season medal overseen by Daryl Griffiths of Burnett Barker Solicitors and Declan Gallagher:

The Mini’s Section at Bury Rugby Club is an animated, fun, active and, as you can imagine, ‘loud’ place to be. As well as encouraging fitness and teamwork, the main objective in the Minis is simple – to ensure all players ENJOY rugby!

Training takes place every Sunday at the Haberden in Bury and children can start at the Under 6’s and 7’s (years 1 & 2 at school), all the way up to the Under 12’s (school year 7). Girls are just as welcome as boys. Once girls reach year 7 at school they train with the junior ladies side – the Vixens.

We look forward to seeing these young player progress next season!
