Resolution Specialist Accreditation Re-awarded to Head of Family Law, Joanne Matthews

Blog

Joanne Matthews, Burnett Barker Solicitors’ Head of Family Law, has been reaccredited by Resolution, the national organisation of family lawyers committed to taking a non-confrontational approach to divorce, separation and other family matters.

If you are unfamiliar with Resolution, please let us explain what it is and why Joanne’s continued accreditation means so much.

Resolution is a 6,500-strong Community of Family Justice Professionals who help families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive way.

Resolution members encourage solutions that consider the needs of the whole family and, in particular, the best interests of children.

The importance of reaccreditation

As a Resolution Accredited Specialist, Joanne must be re-accredited every three years to show that she complies with the Resolution Code of Practice that promotes a non-confrontational approach to resolving family matters.

Reaccreditation is, understandably, a rigorous process. Joanne had to submit evidence showing that she has the specialist knowledge, understanding and application required to work collaboratively and constructively in helping families find a resolution (in line with the Code of Practice) and that she has completed the required amount of continued professional development.

Holding its Accredited Specialists in high esteem, Resolution says:

“Specialist Accredited members are a very valued group, and we appreciate their continuing commitment to the scheme and their dedication to serving families with distinction and excellence.”

Commenting on what Joanne’s reaccreditation means to Burnett Barker Solicitors and its clients, Chief Executive, Daryl Griffiths adds:

“Joanne is a trusted expert family lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in helping families reach a resolution. We are proud of her Accredited Specialist status and constructive approach to family law, which supports families to communicate constructively to arrive at the best outcome.”

Talking openly about the benefits of this approach, here are a few words from some of Joanne’s clients:

“Joanne Matthews is exceptional and takes personable approach, that is honest. Very reasonable approach to fees and a non-aggressive attitude to family law.”

“I cannot find the words to tell you how grateful I am. Joanne’s professionalism and sound advice helped me to remain calm and in control.”

“Joanne and Laura [Family Law Secretary] were so helpful with my difficult family matter. A lot of great advice and they were there from the beginning to the end of my journey.”
