Family Law Solicitor
Helping families work through their legal issues and meeting people from all walks of life is one of the most enjoyable aspects of my role as Family Law Solicitor.
How I can help:
Children and custody agreements
Memberships and Qualifications
Graduate Diploma in Law
Legal Practice Course (LPC)
Member of Resolution
As a Family Law Solicitor I specialise in the areas of children and divorce – helping families to work through often complex issues in the most compassionate and understanding way.
Our family law department works very closely as a team and cover all areas of family law including pre-nuptial agreements or grandparents rights, to issues surrounding divorce and separation.
Both our Family Law Partner, Joanne Matthews, and myself are members of Resolution – this means that we approach all of our client matters in a non-confrontational and constructive way, working to minimise conflict and reduce the impact of separation and divorce on children.
After graduating with a Diploma in Law at the University of East Anglia, I worked as a paralegal specialising in Children Act Proceedings for two years.
Following this, I completed my training contract at a firm in Norfolk, before joining Burnett Barker Solicitors.
When you speak with me about your family law issues, I will advise you on your options going forward. You will not have to make any decisions there and then of course, and I would invite you to ask any questions you may have.
Often, I am able to reach agreement on your behalf, avoiding the need for attending Court. Where going to Court is one of your options however, I will talk you through proceedings so that you are fully aware of the next steps.
More about Hannah
When I’m not working, I love to enjoy long walks in the countryside as well as a bit of shopping – something that living in Bury St Edmunds makes very easy. I am also attempting to study French, so feel free to test me out when we meet.
In the office I am supported by:
Family Law Secretary
As Family Law Secretary, I am the first point of contact for clients - arranging appointments and telephone conferences and generally keeping all parties up to date on what's happening. Whilst Family law can be complex and challenging at times, it can so be rewarding and I very much enjoy helping families to resolve their issues in the best possible way.
