Welcoming Adele as our new Apprentice

Blog

We are pleased to welcome Adele Mills as our Business Administration Apprentice.

Adele (19) from Bury St Edmunds, has been working with both the accounts and admin teams – getting involved in all areas of the accounting and administrative processes necessary to run a busy legal firm.

The 18-month Level 3 Apprenticeship, supported by West Suffolk College, is the second apprenticeship scheme that Burnett Barker has taken part in, following the completion of a successful programme last year.

Daryl Griffiths, CEO at Burnett Barker Solicitors, commented:

“As one of Bury St Edmunds’ best-known law firms, we have a proud reputation for putting our clients at the centre of everything we do. Part of this involves ensuring that we have a strong support team behind us and recruiting an enthusiastic and energetic apprentice like Adele is a great way for us to do this; as well as enable us to play our part in preparing the future generation for the world of work.”.

Whilst her apprenticeship is focused on business administration, Adele has also enjoyed the opportunity to interact directly with clients as well as shadow solicitors and secretaries on external visits.

Speaking about her appointment, Adele said:

“I’m really enjoying the variation of the job so far and am learning about all aspects of law including family, wills & probate, conveyancing and criminal. It’s great that I can also get out of the office from time to time as well as meet clients, when witnessing Wills for example, as it helps bring to life the daily tasks that I’m involved in.”.
