We have a new post for a part-time secretary in our Wills & Probate team.
**UPDATED 26 MARCH – Thank you for your interest in this post, we are no longer accepting applications for this post.**
Working from our town centre offices in Bury St Edmunds, Wednesday to Friday, you will primarily be providing secretarial and administrative support to Gillian Robson, a Wills and Probate solicitor who has recently joined the firm, enabling her to focus on legal & procedural issues.
You must be able to demonstrate a professional and sympathetic attitude – both in your dealings with clients and in your approach to the work generally.
No previous legal employment is required.
As this is a growing team, you will be working alongside Brenda King, another experienced secretary, benefiting from one-to-one training and support to swiftly put our processes and expertise into practice.
We use a range of software products including Word and Excel 2010, as well as other more-specialist tools. Digital audio transcription experience would be helpful but, again, is not a requirement, although quick and accurate typing will be particularly beneficial.
You must be numerate and able to spell. Reasonable examination grades in English and Maths are therefore expected, although we will consider you if can give sufficient explanation for any apparent deficit on this front.
Finally, as this is a fast-paced working environment you will possess excellent communication skills enabling clear and confident interaction with colleagues, clients and third parties.
Employment opportunities are open and accessible to all on the basis of their individual qualities and personal merit. We wish to recruit from the widest pool of qualified candidates possible and consider all applicant regardless of disability, gender, marital status, race, racial group, colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.
