JOB SUMMARY

We have a new job-share Receptionist job vacancy working Monday & Tuesday in our business support team, working at the front desk in our Reception, welcoming visitors and routing calls to the appropriate specialist lawyer.

As the administrative “hub” of the office you will be responsible for other general office duties including incoming and outgoing post.

Regular hours of work are Monday and Tuesday, 9am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch (usually at midday).

The starting salary is £5,700.

As this is a job share you will cover the absence of your job-sharer, for which you will be paid at the same rate pro-rata.

Typical tasks include:

  • Greeting clients and visitors to the office
  • Answering and routing incoming calls on our multi-line telephone system
  • Processing and forwarding post received
  • Sorting and sending outward mail
  • Taking payments by card and cash

receptionist job vacancy featured imageAs you will often be the first person with whom clients and visitors interact, you must be courteous and helpful at all times, maintain a high standard of personal appearance and have a pleasing manner.

You will probably have experience of working in a customer service, reception or administrative role, but previous experience in the legal field is not necessary.

This is a fast-paced working environment and you will need to have clear and concise communication skills enabling confident communication with colleagues, clients and relevant third parties.

You must be able to manage your time and workload and be able to work well under pressure to meet multiple deadlines and the highest service levels throughout the day.

You will be numerate and able to spell, reasonable exam grades in English and Mathematics are expected, although we will happily consider anyone giving a sufficient explanation for lower grades.
